Frequently Asked Question
How do I connect to the University's Wi-Fi?
Last Updated a year ago
There are two main Wi-Fi networks across the University of Cambridge and its affiliated Colleges; eduroam and UniOfCam-Guest. eduroam is intended for use by students and staff, whilst UniOfCam-Guest is intended for guests, as the name suggest. The steps below explain how to connect to both.
How to connect to UniOfCam-Guest:
- Select UniOfCam-Guest from the list of available Wi-Fi networks on your device.
- A browser window should open and take you to the signup page. If this doesn't happen automatically, try opening up a browser window yourself.
- Once you are on the sign-up page, sign up using one of the available methods.
How to connect to eduroam:
- Visit the Network Token Access site where you can generate an eduroam token (consisting of a username and password) for your device.
- Next, visit the University Information Services' webpage Connect to eduroam wifi. This page contains step-by-step guides for connecting to eduroam using a variety of devices. Select whichever option applies to you, and follow all instructions for your device.
If you have problems connecting to either of these networks, open a support ticket with us and we will assist you.
